Every year within every community in Ireland households and small businesses experience the trauma of being a victim of theft or burglaries. In addition, every year An Garda Siochána recover hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of stolen property from the hands of criminals, but all too often there is no way of identifying its rightful owners. Property Marking Ireland has a solution!

Denis Duggan
Chairman
Born in Tipperary, Denis is currently the Chief Executive of Horse Sport Ireland having recently moved from the same position in Macra na Feirme. He holds qualifications in IT, sustainable rural development and business studies and has completed an executive MBA at NUIG.
Prior to taking up the Macra na Feirme position Denis was a senior regional development executive with Enterprise Ireland. His role at the organisation included encouraging and supporting business start-ups and providing guidance to new developing businesses.

Ciaran Lynch
Company Secretary
Ciaran is currently the Managing Director of Community Engagement Partners Limited having retired as the Development Manager of LIT in 2016. He has a background in sociology, town planning, rural development and governance.
He worked as a local authority planner for over 20 years and was The Planning and Development Officer for County Clare for 13 years. He was formerly the Head of the Sustainable Rural Development Department at Tipperary Institute.

Liam Kelly
Treasurer
Liam lives in Ardfinnan in Tipperary. He was a member of the Gard Síochána from 1975 to 2006 during which he gained first-hand knowledge of property theft amongst other crimes.
Between 2005 and 2016 he worked in a variety of roles in Muintir na Tíre which included acting as National Coordinator of the Community Alert Program and managing the Tipperary Community Safety Project. He also managed an SEAI Warmer Homes Program and managed the Irish element of an Interreg transnational project.

Collette Murphy
Board Member
Colette lives in Goresbridge, Co. Kilkenny and is married to Peter. They have 3 children ages 23, 21, 18.
Colette has been involved in her community since 2006 and set up Goresbridge Rural Development which has made great improvements around the area Her interests include, photography, hurling, crafts, art, vegetable gardening and all things community. In addition to her other activities, she is the Credit Controller in Goresbridge Credit Union.

Michael O’Reilly
Board Member
Michael lives in County Cavan and was formerly a Sergeant with the Cavan Monaghan Division, a position which he held for many years.
Michael has been actively involved with both Community Alert and Neighbourhood Watch groups for over 30 years and is a great believer in strengthening the partnership approach between communities and An Garda Síochána. He brings a wealth of recent experience of community-based security to the Board.

James O’Neill
Development Manager
James has a background in agriculture and rural and community development and it is his energy and vision which lies behind the establishment of Property Marking Ireland – an energy which has been confirmed by his being one of the finalists in this year’s Social Entrepreneur Awards.
James has a degree in Rural Development from Tipperary Institute and is passionately committed to the role of community and voluntary organisations in community-based action.
